 Marc Coseo

A Pioneer of Ball Acupressure

Marc Coseo is a nationally board-certified acupuncturist with more than 30 years of experience in acupuncture, acupressure, sports injuries, and Traditional Chinese Medicine.

His interest in self-treatment began much earlier, during his years as a competitive and professional tennis player. Looking for a better way to prepare tight, overworked muscles for activity, Marc began experimenting with tennis balls to apply sustained pressure to specific acupressure points.

That simple idea developed into

what he now calls Ball Acupressure.

In 1992, Marc published The Acupressure Warmup: For Fitness, Athletic Preparation and Injury Management. The book presented a systematic method combining tennis balls, body weight, traditional acupressure points, stretching, and movement.

It appears to be one of the earliest published systems to combine ball pressure with traditional acupressure principles for athletic preparation, flexibility, injury management, and self-treatment.

Marc continued refining the method throughout decades of clinical practice. He often taught patients Ball Acupressure exercises they could perform at home between treatments, using simple tools and their own body weight.

Today, Acupressure Works continues that original philosophy:

Find the right point.
Apply steady pressure.
Let gravity do the work.
Then move.

Ball Acupressure is designed to complement stretching, exercise, physical therapy, massage, chiropractic care, acupuncture, and sports training.

Pressure first. Movement second. Activity third.

Over decades of clinical practice, Marc developed Ball Acupressure as practical “homework” his patients could use between treatments. That work has grown into Ball Acupressure Works, his expanded guide to self-acupressure using tennis balls, precise acupoints, body weight, and gravity, along with the Ball Acupressure Video Series, The Acupressure Warm-Up, and professional Acupoint Charts. Together, these resources are designed to make effective self-care techniques easier to understand, practice, and use at home.

BALL ACUPRESSURE VIDEO SERIES

For those who prefer to learn by watching, Marc created a complete series of instructional Ball Acupressure videos covering the low back, hips and sciatica, knees, hamstrings, calves and ankles, neck and upper back, and shoulders. Each video demonstrates how to locate the appropriate points, position the tennis balls, apply steady pressure, and let gravity do the work

But Marc’s influence extends far beyond the confines of his practice. As a fervent advocate for education and self-healing, he also crafted meticulous Acupoint Charts, thoughtfully designed with references to all major muscle groups and anatomical landmarks. These charts have become invaluable visual aids used by acupuncturists, physical therapists, massage therapists, and personal trainers worldwide. Additionally, they provide immense value to individuals who practice acupressure techniques on themselves.
